As my loyal little pup demonstrates in this picture, the Pages are Badgers now. This allegiance is tested only when the University of Wisconsin matches up against my beloved Tar Heels at UNC. The Home page of this site has the official biographical version. Not included in that paragraph are many between-the-lines details. Here are a few random thoughts to fill in the blanks.

The official bio refers to “family”. I have three kids in their twenties (see below) and regardless of the fact that Rick and I have moved to different places, I am grateful that the three of them are willing to consider any house we live in as their home.

With the exception of family gatherings (all too rare these days), I am never happier than when I’m on the water – either sailing or at anchor. Even though I was the first to love sailing, Rick embraced the helm with his trademark enthusiasm. One reason I love vacationing aboard is that it offers the ability to travel while being “at home”. Below decks, are the familiar domestic trappings, but the backyard view is constantly changing. Together, some of the most memorable adventures Rick and I have experienced have included full sails and brisk wind (and afterward, a secure anchor hold and a glass of wine). Currently, the soundtrack from the movie “Dumb and Dumber” is at the top of the playlist for happy hour. But like the view, I’m sure that will change.

And finally… Since my college days, I’ve lived in New York City, Boston, Durham, Dallas, Seattle and now Madison. Regardless of my return address, I am always a Southerner at heart. Put a plate of shrimp and grits in front of me and I’m a happy woman.

I will try to fill in more details with pictures and postings on my Facebook Page. Feel free to drop by and leave me a note.
